In the village of Maiergschwendt, especially in the 20th century, many things were tried out: people failed, buildings were demolished, new ones were built. These are all lived stories that are increasingly forgotten as half-knowledge from generation to generation. In the project, some of these stories are collected, researched, archived and processed. They are often absurd, but also always a reflection of their time.
The project is realised as interactive foldout images: four views of the place from different times (1890s, 1920s, 1940s and 1970s), where one can follow the structural changes of the place. From these, one jumps into the individual stories to discover them. The starting point is therefore always the place itself, which thus becomes the protagonist for its own story. Overall, the project is designed so that new stories can always be added. MAIERGSCHWENDT will always change, just like the place itself.
